Point Chev brunch games continue strong with this new addition to the neighbourhood. A thoughtful, modern, rustic interior with a dash of art décor gives the place an appropriately classy feel — think intricate geometric inlays and stark white walls paired with rich wooden accents. If reading this makes you think of Petit Bocal and Woodworks then you’ve hit the nail on the head, this is co-owners Matthieu Gosset and Julian Able’s new baby. The menu is a rich array of offerings ranging from traditional brunch eats (spot the charming French influences) — to the 3pm Farmers’ Platters and a glass of red — all the way up to the bistro hard-hitters (helloo, slow cooked lamb ragu). Be wary of the pricing though, as they are indicative of the sizes of the item — the ceviche was divine but not enough on its own. Other than that, we’re loving this beautifully minimalist space, and can envision Ambler hosting many functions and good times in the coming months!
Louise had the Market Ceviche with chilli and lemongrass and drank a Coconut Flat White. She said "Really enjoyed lunch, the fit out, the ambience, the company. Reasonable delay on food but it was totally worth the wait. Delicious flavours of fresh lemongrass, coriander and chilli - happy as a clam. Or a raw fish."
Katie had the Slow-cooked Lamb Shoulder Ragu Pappardelle with fresh basil and parmigiano. She said "Love the layout of the place! Papperdelle is a bit too al-dente to my taste but the sauce is lovely! Would come again to give more of their stuff a try."
Mel had the Market Ceviche with chilli and lemongrass and drank a Flat White. She said "Loved the calm, modern and stylish interior, the ceviche was flavoursome but not plentiful in size compared to other dishes. I would like to try some of the other menu options so I'll definitely visit again when I'm back in Pt Chev!"
Bri had the Green Quinoa Bowl with beans, peas, mint, cashew nuts and maple dressing and drank a Lavender Kombucha. She said "The quinoa bowl was light yet satisfying from a generous portion size. It tasted really fresh and the different textures complemented one another well."
Jeffrey had the Slow-cooked Lamb Shoulder Ragu Pappardelle with fresh basil and parmigiano. He said "Food taste nice enough, service was ok. I will go back."
Phil had the Slow-cooked Lamb Shoulder Ragu Pappardelle with fresh basil and parmigiano and drank a Soy Flat White. He said "The Flavour of the food was great but unfortunately the food with was on the whole lukewarm with patches of cold and hot. This made the meal a little unpleasant to eat."
