Gingerbirds Kitchen is a cute, unassuming wee space in Dominion Road that we had often spotted (generally while coming out of Cereal Killer) but never visited. Time to change that.
Cool branding and cute space, though it is primarily set up for outcatering vs group lunching. Parking is easy, service was swift, coffee was hot and good and there's a great selection of healthy eating options. Very good for people on the run.
Louise had the risotto balls with a beetroot, feta & cannelloni bean salad and a mocha. She said, 'I quite liked the food. It looked appealing and healthy but randomly, I had a hair (!) and a piece of plastic in my risotto ball. Eeek. Never a good time. If I worked in the area, this would likely be a regular stop for a quick takeaway though.'
Innie had the haloumi frittata with rocket and beetroot salad and a latte. She said, 'Many local customers! Love their branding and cute cafe.'
Katie also had the risotto balls with a beetroot, feta & cannelloni bean salad. She said, 'Pretty fragrant risotto - love how they sold the 'homemade' frozen dinners too! Very cosy cafe but probably better for takeaway.'
