If you find yourself needing a bit of zen away from the hustle and bustle (or if your body needs some serious compensation from pigging out in the weekends), Mondays is a local, good, ‘lean food' eatery that we would recommend in a heartbeat. Situated down a steep slope off New North Road, you’ll find the wholefoods kitchen hidden under a luscious wall of ivy (the plants turn a fiery shade in fall and retreat into a skeletal framework in winter — just as picturesque and unique). Honestly, even our most stubborn meat-eaters appreciate their moreish offerings. Give the waffles a try, or the eggs bene for something savoury — your inner yoga-mum will thank you.
Louise had the Stonefruit & Tumeric Waffles and a Coconut Cream Flat White. She said "Loved the food and good strong coffee. Unfortunately the service was super laggy, the waitress unclear and smoothies had to switch to takeaway as they just didn't arrive. The power drill during the lunch hour was unfortunate but forgiven because they were putting up festoon lights #welove."
Innie had the Eggs Benedict. She said "They were short-staffed but this is one of my favourite cafes so… not really complaining as long as the food doesn’t change."
Katie had the The Middle Eastern Feast with two Poached Eggs and a Coconut Ice-cream Affogato. She said "Try the affogato! It’s noice."
Mel had the The Middle Eastern Feast with two Poached Eggs and a Chocolate and Banana Smoothie. She said "Lovely flavours, nice to know your eating something super healthy! Unfortunately the service was slow and not as friendly as I'd expect (they could do with smiling more!), shame cause its a lovely spot."
Joe had the Eggs Benedict with Salmon and a Berry Smoothie. She said "Service was a bit slow, but food good (especially the red smoothie)."
Rebecca had the Poached Eggs on Sourdough and a Immunity Smoothie (Spinach, Orange, Lemon, Kiwifruit, Fresh Turmeric, Fresh Ginger and Mint). She said "It’s good to know that lunch today was both tasty and healthy at the same time. Guilt-free."
