Today's lunch trip was a bit of a distracting one. And not because Katie thought the waiter was attractive (to be fair, he was probably alright), but we had other things on our minds – like a good, strong cup of Five Elements coffee.
After Satish from Finda shouted us summa dat liquid gold from the Lodge (thanks dude), we knew we had to try it out ourselves. And of course we chose one of our craziest Fridays in between back-to-back meetings, Reuben-pick-ups and cut-throat deadlines - we like to do lunches the easy way ha! Innie and Katie, while zooming in fast-and–furious fashion, placed their orders ahead of time with Lou via the café landline - thankfully the waitress quickly located the "supermodel mum (haha) with auburn hair sitting with a little boy", took the orders, promptly served us our meals and allayed the deadline jitters. Panic over… for now. And yes, Five Elements was still good.
Louise had the Creamy Mushrooms on toast with poached egg and bacon and a Mocha. She said 'Loved the creamy mushrooms - excellent - and I think I am becoming a fan of Five Elements coffee. Friendly service, staff nicely accommodating of my small child and our staggered ordering.'
Innie had the Eggs Benedict with bacon, avocado and a Latte. She said 'A nice, clean modern cafe to enjoy a nice coffee in this chilly winter. Just get there fast if you want any sweets! They were all gone by the time we got there.
Katie had the Buttermilk Pancakes with bacon, seasonal fruits and mascarpone and a Mocha. She said ' We are fast becoming cafe snobs. The pancakes were fluffy but wished the bacon were crispy! Nice mocha though, very flavoursome.'
