Ruby Eatery
Located conveniently next to Les Mills gym, Ruby Eatery in New Lynn is a hidden gem worth discovering. This charming spot offers a delightful blend of Turkish, Mediterranean, and New Zealand dishes, making it a unique find in the area. The atmosphere inside is simply lovely—where we sat it was light and airy with masses of pink blossoms decorating some rather large fake trees, this certainly gave it a warm and almost whimsical feel. Outside, there are multiple glasshouse areas perfect for enjoying your meal, rain or shine.
On the menu, we had a delightful spread: creamy smashed avo on toast, flavourful grilled chicken paired with hummus and tabouli salad, a satisfying keto bowl, and the Fattish salad, fresh and packed with goodness. The Turkish teas were all kinds of fun too, they looked good and tasted good too- we secretly wanted to sneak one of their very cool silver tea sets and trays home with us…but we restrained, such an honest bunch 😉
Ruby’s ended up being quite the surprising treat for a Friday arvo, it certainly helped that the sun was shining! So whether you’re grabbing a bite post-workout or chilling out with friends, this place ticks all the boxes for great food and a welcoming vibe. It would be great to come back here for an evening visit, we think it would be very fun all lit up and sparkly!
Total spend – 4 people – $149.00

Mel had the smashed avo on sourdough bread with salmon. She said, “I’m impressed! This place was atmospheric, plenty of different spots to sit- inside and out options-and really lovely food. We had a lovely sunny day which meant we could sit and lap up the rays, super relaxing. The fake blossom flowers can sometimes feel a bit tacky, but here, I felt it worked. I’ll be back :)”
