Atomic is always good. At least, that is what we hear. A lot. From clients, friends and… well, let's be honest… everyone.
We do enjoy their coffee and have sampled it around the place, but thought we would go straight to the heart of the roasters at their Kingsland-based café and try them out for a Husky lunch. Crossing the threshold, Atomic's popularity was very evident – lots of space, no tables available, bit of a queue etc – so we grabbed an outside pozzy, thankful for the sun and some space for Lou's son to run amok. Service was friendly and prompt and the food was good and tasty.
The only real downfall, for us regular café-goers, was the range of food was limited to whatever was left in the cabinet/on the servery (and we can't quite remember whether they actually have a kitchen menu or not). We bought a hodge-podge of items, but luckily, the coffee more than made up for any lack in the food variety department. Perhaps we will try an earlier visit next time…
Louise had the Haloumi and Roasted Pumpkin Roll and a Phoenix Raspberry Fizz. She said 'Roll was really yummy, had it heated but the haloumi was still a little cold. Had a take away coffee afterwards which was good. The fizzy drink was awful. Might have been enjoyable if I was 8.'
Innie had the Orzo Salad and a Latte. She said 'Loved it loved it loved it. You gotta have the full course at this cafe - coffee, main and dessert. Just wish there were a few more seats...This cafe had more guys than girls...Rating of this factor...priceless!'
