International gourmet europium meets cafe at the corner of Mt Eden (where Mozaik used to be). Beyond the stairs we were greeted with a sunny second storey filled with faux-marble tables and black detailing; there's also a hidden room with a huge communal table — could be good for functions and meetings perhaps? In the café corner, minimalist shelving hosted every foodie's perfect gift including infused salts, feijoa wine, squid-ink spagehetti (!) and... really, really good-quality balsamic vinegar #mmm. The menu had a good range of choice too including two species of pancakes up for the picking: Canadian or Belgium. Will there be a Fijian version in the future? Or Japanese? Maybe we should send them some suggestions. Overall, it was an OK experience but somehow we felt it was missing that ‘buzz' factor that Jones the Grocer Newmarket has in spades.
