L’OEUF

https://www.facebook.com/LoeufNz/

L’Oeuf is always our first pick when we’re looking for a good time in the Mt Albert area. This sunny noon we were joined by some members of the CAP team, all 9 of us squeezing onto the wooden seats outside Chinoiserie (which is the adjacent night-time bar and eatery who share space turn-about – talk about efficiency!) The ol’ favourites like the perpetually instagrammable ‘Nest’ and colourful soba bowl ‘Geisha’ are still stalwarts of the menu, but if you’re looking for something different try the new ‘Poke Bowl’ and the ‘Good Waffle’ — all packed with flavour, wholesome goodness and beautifully plated. L’Oeuf has recently had an overhaul to keep it fresh and extend the shared space – good on you team for nailing it all these years!

Louise had The Good Waffle that has Spinach & Pine Nuts, served with a summer Salad with Feta, Poached Egg, Hazelnuts, Minted Yoghurt with a side of Bacon. She said “L’Oeuf is always great and we loved our special guests today. Good times all around!”

Katie had The Good Waffle that has Spinach & Pine Nuts, served with a summer Salad with Feta, Poached Egg, Hazelnuts, Minted Yoghurt with a side of Bacon. She said “Any other comments Always a good time, their portion size seemed to have increased but just as yum! Is that even allowed?”

Mel had the The Nest with two Pumpkin-Seed Crumbed Soft-Boiled Eggs, a filo Pastry Nest, Beetroot Ketchup with Feta and a Mesclun Salad. She said “Such a visual treat, their food is impeccably presented and the flavours are just as good. Mt Albert is lucky to have such a cool place, this won’t be my last ‘Nest’ eaten!”

Bri had the Tofu Geisha with Sobda Noodles, Red Cabbage, Daikon, Spring Onion, Japanese Sesame Dressing, Pickled Ginger, Peanut and Sesame and a Soy Flat White. She said “Presentation was top notch, and the serving sizes were really generous. My favourite part was all the different ingredients that worked together well.”

Jeffrey had the Poke Bowl with raw Salmon, Edamame, Brown Rice, Carrot, Cucumber, Seaweed, Kimchi, Pomegranate with Ponzu dressing and Sesame and an Iced coffee. He said “Presentation and food taste great, I will go back and try others.”

Phil had the The Hunter with creamy Balsamic Mushrooms, Chorizo, Parmesan, Truffle Oil with Balsamic reduction and Bacon on the side and and a Flat White. He said “Best Coffee in Mt Roskill, Bacon was a little too thin and crispy.”
