When you think of a rebrand, what comes to mind? Often when people come to us for rebranding, theyre wanting their logo to simply be redesigned. And while a logo is a key mark of recognition, its only part of the picture - in fact, were often heard saying logo design is the last 10% of branding.

Branding is a landscape of communication and includes everything from uniqueness to promises to customer experience right through to language, tone, colour, imagery and more. Every aspect of your communications - design, print, social and web - says something about you as a business and either engages or disengages potential customers. 

If you want to been seen a customer-oriented team that delivers, then a customers entire experience of your brand should reflect that. Its one of the first pieces of jargon you may encounter with a designer, but why is negative space a positive thing in the world of branding? 

One simple reason: information heirarchy. Take it from Aarron Walter, famous UX designer and best-selling author: If everything yells for your viewers attention, nothing is heard. 

It takes a lot of discipline – knowing when to stop, knowing what to simplify or cut out altogether to make way for the important stuff. 

Letting a design breathe offers space for a reader to process what is communicated, rather than causing them to dismiss it as blatant advertising muck. So, instead of being tempted to fill every corner of your design piece – make sure you choose a design studio who know how to harness this powerful design element in elevating the integrity of your brand.
