We visited Pilar on Ponsonby Road for one of our team Husk lunches to kick off the week, and it was exactly the kind of Monday boost we needed. Between us, we tried the summer roll bowl, corn fritters, and the chicken quinoa salad – all super fresh, full of flavour, and made us feel like we were absolutely smashing the whole ‘balanced lifestyle’ thing. The corn fritters were the standout – crispy, stacked, and generous on the avo. The summer roll bowl was light but still packed a punch, and the quinoa salad had enough going on to keep things interesting.

The vibe at Pilar is effortlessly cool – relaxed and fresh. Service was friendly. It’s a solid spot for a Husky team lunch: tasty, no stress, and the kind of food that fuels you without putting you in a post-lunch slump. We didn’t just finish there though, we took home a hazelnut brownie and 2 slices of carrot cake to share … After all, who doesn’t want that little sweet hit late afternoon right!! Pilar’s is definitely going in the rotation for another visit, next time with Sarah too 😉

Louise had the Chicken quinoa salad and drank a karma cola. She said, “Really enjoyed our first visit – delish flavours, generous helping of chicken, easy, fast and friendly service. I will be back for sure.”

Mel had the summer roll bowl and drank a gingerella. She said, “Relaxed, calming and super delicious. My summer roll bowl had the perfect amount of sauce and chilli heat over the noodles, my mouth had a nice hum going on all the way home!” 

Sam had corn fritters.. He said, “I finally got to try Pilar, I drive past it everyday and it’s an awesome looking little cafe and I like the logo. The food didn’t disappoint either, super yum and fresh, a nice relaxing space.”
