The Lodge Cafe
The Lodge Café in Mt Albert is a great spot for a chill lunch or a quick coffee catch-up. The vibe is contemporary, relaxed and a little on the more formal side, with lots of natural light from the big glass windows—perfect for just soaking up the surroundings. The menu’s got some seriously tasty options, and the smoked hashcake? Sarah’s all about it! The best part is that it’s only a short walk from the train station and super close to our studio—so convenient! Plus, the service is on point—smooth, friendly and super helpful.

Louise had the haloumi & quinoa salad with grilled chicken. She said, “Most likely to come back because it is so close and handy (walking distance from our studio). The haloumi and chicken were tasty, as were the roast beets and crunchy nuts but unfortunately the dish was doused in yoghurt which made the salad overall too wet for me. Also not much quinoa to be found for a quinoa salad.”
Mel had the vietnamese pancake and drank a beetroot latte. She said, “This place is not the coolest cat in town but it certainly does give you a very calming experience. Super close to the Mt Albert shops, train station and our Husky studio, so ticks all the boxes for ‘easy and convenient’. My Vietnamese pancake was quite yummy too!”
Sam had the smoked kahawai hashcake and drank a flat white. He said, “Super quiet spot with no real vibes but a nice place to go and talk and do some work and have a coffee. The food is really nice and there are lots of options.”
Sarah had the smoked kahawai hashcake. She said, “I really enjoyed The Lodge! The smoked Kahawai hashcake was super tasty—nice and smoky and the salad had a great vinaigrette to go with it. The vibe was really relaxed and the service was spot on.”
