MY LITTLE BAKERY

facebook.com/mylittlebakerynz

Opened May 2015, My Little Bakery has been the source of some very delectable sweet treats sneaked in by our clients from time to time. (Jealous? Yeah, just like how we’re jealous of your slim waistlines.) And on this dreary Friday in February, we finally get to see the place that supplies these wonderful parcels of long john donuts, chocolate eclairs and cinnamon brioches.

We were greeted with gleaming subway tiles, white wooden furniture and yellow craspedias (yellow ball flower thingies). The grinning waitress showed us to the communal table, which gave us a good view of the glass cabinets, packed with sandwiches, pies and desserts. The savoury foods were decent enough (though some sides of salad may have helped with presentation) — but they were nothing compared with the lines of Snickers slices, salted caramel tarts and jaffa cupcakes (complete with a chocolate-silver-fern on top!) Needless to say we bought some back for afternoon tea.

Crazy traffic and a tough location but definitely worth popping your head in the door.

Louise had the roast beef sandwich. She said “Super cute and super small. We took up the whole one big table. Lovely prompt service and cute decor. Great for a bite on the go though parking in that area is always a mish.”

Katie had the steak and mushroom pie and a mango peach & passion cooler with coconut water. She said “The bakery is nicely set up and the dessert fridge is amazing. The pie was good but could’ve had more blue cheese.”

Mel had the steak n cheese pie with a charlies lemonade. She said “Cute little local bakery, nice atmosphere, like the white décor.”

Joe had the ham ciabatta and a phoenix fejoia. He said “Nice clean local.”

Emilie had the steak and mushroom pie and a soy flat white. She said “Cute place”
