San Ray
Some lunch spots are all hype but San Ray isn’t one of them. The decor is sophisticated in its simplicity, the menu is packed with bold flavours, the woodfired cooking does all the heavy lifting and there’s enough variety to keep even the most indecisive lunch crew happy. If you’re hunting for one of the best lunch spots in Ponsonby, this one’s well worth adding to the list.
The biggest challenge wasn’t finding something good on the menu – it was deciding which good thing to order. Between the flavours, the coffee and the temptation to squeeze in dessert, this one ticked all the right boxes. We’ll happily use “client meeting” as an excuse to come back, especially to avail ourselves of the beautiful private room upstairs.
