Crack Chicken
Crack Chicken was the place of choice today, just a few short minutes walk from our home at QB studios. Super friendly service – genuinely welcoming without being over the top, we were looked after from the moment we walked in. Big bonus: dog-friendly, so our four legged team member ‘Pickles’ felt right at home too and got to say ‘hi’ to the owner Albert Cho’s pooch, ‘Chewy’, aw cute!
The food hit the mark – OG chicken burger combo, Cracked Burger and a gluten-free OG Chicken Bowl – all solid, tasty, and just what you want on a casual lunch break. No faff, no long wait times, just good food in a chilled spot that feels like it’s already part of the local loop.

Louise had the OG chicken burger combo and drank a cola. She said, “Love anything Alby puts his hand to tbh #fangirl, and specially appreciated the proximity to our new studio, the cuteness of two puppies meeting each other, the crispy AF goodness and ability to sit on the pavement but be sheltered from the elements. Nice cruisey vibe. Exceptional chicken.”
Mel had the cracked burger and apple and guava juice. She said, “This was a tasty burger! If you love crisp chicken and are in the middle of Ponsonby, this place is for you.”
Sarah had the OG chicken rice bowl. She said, “Being gluten free, I had major food envy watching everyone else demolish their fried chicken. It looked so good! I went for one of the two GF options, the rice bowl, and was pleasantly surprised – super tasty shredded chicken with a punchy house-made seasoning. Service was fab, and the real star? Chewy the dog, 10/10 for good vibes and furry hospitality!”
