HARE AND THE TURTLE

www.facebook.com/hareandtheturtle

Old school sandwiches.
Crispy-as beer-battered fries.
90’s bakery treats like rocky road and luscious cinnamon buns.
Plastic dinosaur toys as table markers.
A fable-sounding name which, in fact, comes from a song title from the owner’s old band.

Someone’s being nostalgic for sure, and we’re loving it.

Louise had the Baloney (Mortadella, Provolone, Dijon and Mayo). She said “Loved the corner cafe building, our position in the sunshine and the enthusiasm/passion of the team on their 4th day in. Not totally sold on the Baloney, being a big fan of the american hotdog, but with some more lashings of mustard and maybe some pickle or onion thrown in, I could be convinced.”

Innie had the Gobbler sandwich (Roast Turkey, Cranberry, Smoked Chedder and Mayo) and a Mocca. She said “A little more cranberry would’ve been nice for me.”

Katie had the Gobbler sandwich (Roast Turkey, Cranberry, Smoked Chedder and Mayo). She said “The staff were so good to shift the tables outside and adjust the height of the legs for us! It seemed a long way to travel to get a straight-up sandwich though.”

Mel had the Gobbler sandwich (Roast Turkey, Cranberry, Smoked Chedder and Mayo), some chips, and a Mocca. She said “Great little addition to the area! Love their beer battered fries, yummo! We missed out on trying the cinnamon buns as they had sold out, I might have to make a trip back for these!”

Rebecca had the Gobbler sandwich (Roast Turkey, Cranberry, Smoked Chedder and Mayo). She said “The sandwich was a little plain for my liking, but I guess you get exactly what you order – no surprises, no extras.”

Bri had the Salmon on Rye (Cream Cheese, Dill, Lemon, Onion and Capers) and a Mocca. She said “Great value menu, and very filling!”

Jeffrey had the Smokey Joe (Smoked Fish and Remoulade) and a Long Black. He said “I was disappointed they had run out of Cinnamon Buns! The chips were very tasty.”
