kind cafe
It was back to our old neighbourhood in Morningside to visit our favourite plant-based cafe, dishing out all the ‘kindness’ one needs to both the environment and to our bellies. Kind Cafe is always a goody to visit, surrounded by all sorts of plants from the gorgeousness of the outdoor area to the healthy baskets overhead inside. The gardens also sprawl out onto the verge where Kind’s own herb and veggie garden supplements both the chef and the locals.
The feeling when you come here is very much inner urban living – vibrant and fun – yet also promoting a greener, healthier and calmer way to live. This passion shows through in the plating, presentation and in the food itself – often you will find a pretty (and of course edible) flower adorning your plate or glass, making it feel way more than just a regular eating experience. Kind also fosters a tasty selection of coffee options under the sustainable Common Good Coffee brand. Would totally recommend!
The staff are always friendly and helpful, especially if you need help choosing between the dishes – sometimes it’s just all too hard! Today was also a super fun experience because the team got to meet our amazing new accounts guru in person, Michelle Harrison – Michelle works for us remotely, so having her up in Auckland with us was a real treat!
Mel had the Haloumi Benediction. She said, “Love the fact I can eat great food that tastes awesome and it’s good for me! The atmosphere is always calming and refreshing with all their amazing plants (I wish my house looked like this!) This will always be one of my favs :)”
Sam had the Benediction and a flat white. He said “So yum! The eggs were cooked to perfection and there was so much flavour and colour on the plate.”
Sarah had the Haloumi Benediction. She said, “Kind’s atmosphere is beautiful. The meal I had was pretty good – nice flavours. I love eggplant and wanted more big, meaty pieces!”
Louise had the Stracciatella Keto version. She said, “Love this meal – it’s my go to. The Stracciatella is delish and perfectly balanced by the balsamic eggplant, capsicum pesto and nest of baby spinach. Gluten free feels guilt free – nom nom!”
Michelle had the “Avo on Toast with a watermelon juice. She said “The service was friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to ensure it was an easy experience. The food looked great, was yum and can be best described as fresh. The watermelon juice was a delight.”
