RAD Cafe

rad

RAD cafe has been a popular spot in the heart of the Mt Eden Village Shops for many years, we have visited it a number of times for our Husk lunch and enjoyed the great coffee and solid food options.  Service here is awesome, always cheerful and super helpful. It’s not just a sit down and eat kind of place, regulars look to be frequenting for their fave coffee to take away in a busy flow. On the weekends this place is often heaving and it can be hard to get a table, so getting in early is recommended. Being a group of peeps who appreciate a fun play on words, their menu is funny, a little tongue and cheek and light-hearted.  Just what is needed on a Friday arvo as we slide closer to the weekend vibes!

Total spend – 3 people – $100

Louise had roast pumpkin salad with pork belly. She said “Have always enjoyed Rad in the past, especially their food, but today was not a win for me.. My salad comprised 2 thin slices of roast pumpkin perched on top of an oversized jungle of greens and a mere smattering of quinoa. The only salvation was the extra pork belly I added to the salad, which was generous, tasty and tender and thankfully gave me something interesting to eat. Bring back the smoked fish croquettes team! Bit harsh?”

Mel had the eggs bene with salmon and drank The Apology.  She said “The place felt a little less inviting this time round, maybe it was just a quieter day.  The apology drink was super tasty, fresh but beautifully tangy with the ginger kick!  My salmon eggs bene on potato hash was also very good, flavours hit the spot for sure.”

Sam had the big breakfast.  He said “Yum Big breakfast, nice to get a bit of everything.”
