Bowler
Nothing like a sunny wander down to Wynyard Quarter to convince you that a bowl-centric lunch is exactly what life has been missing. Bowler has that breezy, come-as-you-are vibe and the food follows suit: fresh, bright and a little bit addictive. The Glory Bay cured salmon was a bit of a scene stealer, hitting that sweet spot of zingy, crunchy and downright moreish. There may have been some plate-licking energy in the air but we’ll keep names to ourselves. The chicken bowl fans left equally chuffed, raving about the dressing that somehow managed to taste both saintly and sinful at the same time.
Meanwhile, Mel’s brisket bowl had her quietly plotting how to relocate the whole office to the waterfront. Big flavours, big satisfaction and big envy for the locals who get to pop in on the regular. Between the branding that’s as sharp as their pickles and the line-up of bowls that make you feel like you’ve made an excellent life choice, Bowler fits right into our ongoing “eats” adventures. Fresh, fast and seriously good!
