citizen park - jun 2013
Citizen Park is awesome on so many counts that, once we heard they were open for business, getting the Huskies there was a no-brainer. In fact, we have been twice and reviewed our meals both times. We know, we are helpful like that! ;)
It's good 'cos it's local. We like the 2 minute drive from Husk to lunch. Boom.
It's good 'cos parking rocks. There is parking for 10-12 cars right next door, plus roadside parking right outside, not to mention surrounding streets. We have had 100% wins for parking so far.
It's good 'cos it's got vibe. Whether your perched on a highstool inside or lounging outside in the summer sun (or beside the fire in winter), there's cool stuff to look at and failing that, you're always guaranteed to at least be able to people-watch because it's always heaving.
It's good 'cos it's great food. Authentic and fun mexican american twist full of flavour.
It's good value. The menu is varied enough that you can grab a quick/cheap bite (go the $6 sliders) or sit down for a substantial night in. Both work.
We like Citizen Park... and Citizen Park's citizen carpark. We think you will too.
had the Garlic Shrimp Taco; Market Fish Taco and a Rekorderlig Strawberry Lime Cider. She said 'Citizen Park definitely seems to be the new Kingsland flavour of the month and I am loving how local it is to Husk. Impressed that they whipped out a kids'menu with a great range of options and including churros (which were sadly absent from the 'grown-ups'menu). Will definitely be back with Blair, our inhouse gringo, to sample the mexican fare!'
had the Prawn Jerk Pork Soft Taco and some of Lou's Rekorderlig. She said 'Impressed with the freshness of the taco (though I'd love more seasoning) - heard there's live music, DJ and saxophones at nighttime! Intrigue. Much intrigue.'
How good was it?
